Mar 02, 2023Stockholm is the capital of Sweden and considered as one of the most modern and open cities in the world. No wonder it attracts many internationally oriented business students from all over the globe. Here, we will tell you everything you need to know about The Stockholm School of Economics, it's masters’ programs and the required GMAT scores.
One of Europe’s leading business schools
The Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) has been open to students since 1909 and it’s the only privately funded university in Sweden. The university considers itself one of Europe's leading business schools, with a unique network of businesses and communities.
Master's programs
The Stockholm School of Economics offers the following five different Master programs, all taught in English:
- Master program in International Business (Highly ranked by FT)
- Master program in Finance (Highly ranked by FT)
- Master program in Accounting, Valuation & Financial Management
- Master program in Business & Management
- Master program in Economics
No tuition fees
As a citizen of an EU/EEA country or Switzerland, you do not have to pay tuition fees for your master's degree at the Stockholm School of Economics. If this is the case, you will save about 14 thousand euros per year on tuition fees. For those who do have to pay tuition fees, keep in mind that SSE administers a limited number of scholarships.
CEMS Master in International Management
The CEMS Master in International Management is offered by leading business schools, multinational corporations and NGOs around the world. It is a joint degree program that can be persued at any of the academic member universities, including The Stockholm School of Economics. After completing the program, you will be awarded both the CEMS Master in Management degree and a Master of Science degree from SSE. You can join the CEMS Master in International Management program at SSE by being admitted to their MSc program in International Business or through one of their MSc programs listed above, with the exception of the Business & Management master.
Required GMAT Score
If you have a Bachelor of Science degree from a Swedish university or from SSE Riga, you don’t need to submit a GMAT score when applying for one of SSE’s master's degrees. For all other applicants, the Stockholm School of Economics requires a minimum GMAT total score of 600 to be eligible for their master's programs. We do not recommend going for the minimum score, because the average GMAT score of previously enrolled master students is higher than this minimum. However, the range and average GMAT scores vary by master's program. For example, the GMAT range and average score of previously enrolled students in the International Business master's programs are in general lower than that of the Finance master's programs.
Don’t miss the deadlines
When preparing for the required GMAT score for a master of choice at the Stockholm School of Economics, we recommend you keep an eye on the admission deadlines. Normally, the "Early-bird" deadline is mid-November, and the final deadline is mid-January of the following year.
Start on time!
